MEET THE WEBMASTER (?)

I've tried making a few of these 'about me' pages but frankly they've all been shit. I'm not too good at talking about myself. I always feel awkward as all hell when I try. But I'll try my best to give you an idea into who I am.

That aside: hi! I'm zestpunk Most people just call me zest. I'm an artist that pretty much grew up on the internet. Is that healthy? Probably not. Did it fuck me up a bit? Maybe. But hey, I think I turned out pretty okay.

Nowadays I'm mostly coding websites (my new-found love of the past year) drawing, animating or watching my oshis. Creating is my passion. And oftentimes I will start picking up any and all hobbies I can for the sheer fact that I think learning to do stuff is cool. Of course, picking up so many things at once leaves me a bit scatterbrained but I'm pushing through it.

And that...is pretty much it. (I'll add more later. Maybe. Probably not.)

WHAT I USE TO DRAW

I draw everything on an iPad Pro. I have been using iPads as my main drawing tool for like...8 years now. I got one back when they first were released and every artist I followed was getting one and posting about how much they love it. As for programs, I mostly just use Procreate. But I also use Pixquare and Affinity Designer sometimes. I used to use Clip Studio but I got tired of paying for it lmao.

I hope to update to a large screen tablet and better PC setup...eventually.

WHAT'S THAT WEIRD HORNED THING?

That thing is my avatar. I got the idea from mangakas and some of my favorite artists. When it came to having a representation of myself, I didn't want to just draw, well...myself. That would be boring. So I figured I'd make one of my own.

I struggled to figure out what would feel like me...tbh until recently I didn't even know myself that well. So I messed around and came up with this.

If you're curious what it is: it's a sea angel. I got the idea after seeing the album cover for Plastic Death. It's a mix of multiple things. The main inspirations were Splatoon, Pokemon (specifically MewTwo), imps, sea angels (obviously) and...parasites. I once saw a video of a slug carcass being overtaken by a parasite that made it undulate and flash vibrant colors...it terrified me lmao. But it's still a cool concept so I wanted to include it.

Honestly, I'm still finalizing how she looks. But I'll figure it out. Hopefully sooner than later.
